You call telling the guy to "do some reading on Ohm's law"
*helpful*? I spent *years* studying electronics. My whole point is
that you can't just go out and read about "Ohm's Law" and expect to
understand the problem you described with amplifiers. It's meaningless
in that case without further study.
As for your obvious attitude problem, I'll let Bonnie deal with

See above. First you call them an abomination (they're not all
bad), and then you start to talk about how a "quality" system will
probably use a custom mounting system anyway.
You're wrong on both accounts. You don't have to tear up a car's
interior to get "quality" sound.

Funny, I didn't see the words "high end" in your reply. In fact,
when I say "high end" I mean as in a top notch home system. You just
aren't going to get that experience in a car system no matter how much
you dump into it due to the physical limitations of the environment.
(e.g. imaging will never truly be the same) So when I say, "high
end," I don't mean "car high end", I mean "high end" period.
