It's been so long ago that I figured that number, I can't remember how I did
arrive at it. I do know I've been using it for years and it seems all of the
antennas I make are right in there. Not one complaint from anyone that I've
sold them to, anyway... It's possible I figured the radials to be 5% longer,
only made it 2.5% per side. But that number would be 2878.2 and I probably
rounded that off to the next higher even number, which just so happens to jog
my memory when I think of 2808...

I've come up with some wierd numbers like that. If I don't clear my
Scientific Calculator, it includes previous calculations into a newer
calculation.
I can't count how many times I've figured the sides of a triangle and I just
know that dimension can't be right . . . Clear the calculator and figure it
again and the new figure is different and looks like it'll fit..
... One who is in peril thinks with their legs.
