Interesting--we have expelled three this year-our state laws require 
expulsion for any weapon use.  Texas teachers have the ability to suspend 
students without prior principal approval.  Under my current 
administration--I have not had trouble getting a three or five day 
suspension--but at the elementary level-the opposite is usually true.
