Ignore the oil pump drive shaft slot.
Bring #1 up on compression, drop the dist. in the hole with the rotor pointed
at the proper place in relation to #1 on the cap. At this point, the dist.
will be about 1/4 inch above the normally seated position. Have a friend
'bump' the starter, and as the engine turns over, the oil pump drive shaft
and dist. shaft drive 'lining up' will take care of itself. Put the hold
bracket and bolt in place, then proceed with the rest of the assembly.
