Hi Thomas:
TS> ET> list for the OS/2 web server I use. They suggested another
server as the
TS> Wait until my multi-threaded proxy/cache server gets finished :-)
Is this going to be a proxy router with cache? If so, please put me
on your mailing list for notification of beta and generally available
product. OS/2 could really use a product like this.
TS> ET> Also, does the OS/2 ftpd support the ability to display files to
TS> ET> the client (ie: when a user logs in, they are displayed a file
TS> ET> welcoming them to the server)?
TS> I will have a look into the TCP/IP books for this and write a
TS> netmail.
I looked through the ftpd.exe file to see if I could find any clues as
to what the file would be. telnetd uses telnetd.cmd, so I thought that
there might be an ftpd.cmd. Anyway, I noticed that these applications
were all written in what looks like 16 bit Microsoft C! Does this mean
that the protocol support is all 16 bit as well? I would imagine that
if UDP/TCP and under were all 32 bit, the thunking overhead of a 16 bit
app could be significant when traffic is running at LAN speeds. If
UDP/TCP and under are all 16 bit, then this would explain the 16 bit
applications.
Best wishes,
Tom
