My old one is still here in a box (Series 3 M7F, SM7700). From the ROM
revision below, you'll see that it's a beta version of an "enhanced
shitheap with fixed fax faux pas". ;-)

 JG> SmartModem V.32bis M7F v1.04 T7 098E (C) NetComm 1991

Mine's "1.04 T7 098FTest". Hmm, maybe I should .. wadda ya think
folks, should he dig out the old M7F and see if he has any trouble
connecting to TML? Hmm .. that'd involve running BTPE, wouldn't it .. hmm
.. okay, for the sake of science - just this once. I swear I won't inhale.

I *think* it was 098E prior to having the test ROM added in (to check a
bugfix in the fax side of things), but I'm not 100% certain - I can't
remember if the "F" was part of the test or not.

Jeff, try this on your M7F: "AT #V0", followed by "AT
I5" (must be two separate commands). My output is:

T R9696 A Aust 11.06Mhz
SECURITY DES V42BIS LL REM_COM HELP SYNC DUMB FAX
!LOCK 11_BIT_CHAR V32_14.4K V32_12K

Of four calls, only one duplicated "sending yoohoo (0xf1) and tsync
(0xae)" line - this is using the old M7F mentioned above with a
38.4Kbps DCE/DTE rate (heck, it even retained the NVRAM settings I'd been
using about a year ago - it's been sitting in a box ever since .. not bad
for a NetComm!).

How's that Paul - enough "data" for you? Jeff, these are my
NVRAM settings for the M7F (after AT&F. of course):

    AT B15 T &A1 &D3 &K3 &T5
    AT \V1
    AT %C0 %E2 #B1 #C1
    AT S0=0 S6=5 S7=30 S11=70

Cheers..
