PE> BTW, with the silent-running of this modem, people log on and off of my

db> I take it this is a GoodThing(tm)?
From a technical viewpoint yes. From an impressed viewpoint,
yes, I'm impressed. I've never seen a modem do that. It's
quite amazing. The lights just blink. I LOVE IT! From a
comical viewpoint I don't get to hear people connecting, but
I just smile that I can't hear them.

Probably 48 means "fuck Bill Grimsley and his cohorts like Dieter
fucking Mirbach".
db> Quite right, typo on my part - it is of course %M1.
Which I have.
PE> ...the #B1 I don't understand

db> = 1 B0 = V.22, B2 = V.23

I still don't quite understand. If I understand you correctly,
currently if I dial out, and try to connect to a 1200 bps modem,
e.g. Bit Blitzer 123, I will get a "CONNECT 1200/75"? Whereas
if I set #B1 I will get a "CONNECT 1200"? BFN. Paul.
