That is far more common these days.  There are at least a half dozen people
per square kilometer assembling computers in their basements trying to make
a buck.  Most people just buy some cheap jobber at Future Shop or Staples. 
Then they try and suck one of the assembly guys into coming over and fixing
it for nothing when it crashes, usually because of some pirated software
they downloaded from advice they got off some dork they chatted with on
MSN.  Then they bitch because they can't find a decent job.  Go figure.  I
guess they can't get a job at Staples or Future Shop eh?  Maybe the dork
they chatted with is more willing to do work for nothing.
