Its good for them because it is high in calcium (and I am sure a few other
things). I dont think it matters how much water you add, but I'd make sure
it was at least enough to cover the shells (crush them first, add a cup of
water?).
Other things great for your plants. Coffee grounds, water from your fish
tank. I have a mini-flower plot just outside my door. Call it 3 feet from
my 70 gallon aquarium. When we drain and replace some of the fishtank water,
we just sling the hose out to the flower plot. I have a very *lush* flower
plot!
