        The OS/2 Warp Programming for Dummies (ISBN 1-56884-337-2) is an
introductory book.  Once you've passed beyond that level, which isn't that
long, you'll be in need of additional information.  That's where the
DEVCON CDs come in.  Aside from the many invaluable INF books, there are
also some programs that you'll need, such as the IPF compiler (to create
INF and HLP), the SOM compiler (to create SOM and WPS applications), and
there are also demos and timed software that you can evaluate.  But it
is pricy:  225$ for quaterly update for a year.  You can call
1-800-561-5293 to order it.  I've sent e-mails to devcon{at}vnet.ibm.com to
suggest that the start a plan where you could order a single package,
rather than the four sent during a year, but received a negative reply.
Since then I've encouraged others to send their comments on the subject.
