Well... It's SUPPOSED to be topics relating to BUDs (what that is an acronym
for I have no idea), or the signals received and equipment used with 'Large
Format (ie C-Band) Satellite Dishes' and the associated uplink programming.
It would seem that the envelope on that topic is being pushed to near the
limit, but alas... I geuss it's better than having a 'dead' echo :)
I found some really good tips here when I was planning the dish install here.
So there ARE a lot of knowledgable readers out here. I've since gotten the
install done and I'm having a BUNCH of fun watching some of the stuff that
goes on during the live feeds (I've never seen so many guys messin
with their hair as I do with these field reporters...:) And there have been
sevral really interesting feeds of technical nature (ie military equipment
testing and maneuvers
Do you have a BigDish system at your house ?
Oh Yes... I'm using a Winegard QuadStar 10' Mesh dish, and a Chaparral
Sierra III... Currently looking for a good remote for controlling that and
my Sanyo 27" TV. I have the audio output from the receiver fed into an old
Fisher Stereo Receiver, and the sound is terrific! I never knew stereo TV
could be so realistic (no connection with radio shack ;) My location is in
the mountains, so with hills to the south I only have access to the top
section of the arc, but I can get pretty much everthing from F1 to G3 (and
maybe G7 when I get a couple trees felled).
Sincerely,
           Bruce - kb6lwn - ck1@pacbell.net
