Ah! Never actually laid hands on one, huh?
Just one example:
I can do two different types of scan/search at once (well, sequentially,
actually). I can scan any list of frequencies (and log hits, if I want to),
and also, in rotation, search a band, also logging hits if I want to. IOW,
the radio will do the scan, do the search, do the scan, do the search, etc.
I've not seen the capability with a '2006.
I'm not in any way putting down the 2006. I have *2* of them.
Nor am I trying to diminish what you can do with them.
I bought to fill my needs/wants. The Icom will do things I couldn't do
another way. It's overkill for the vast majority of scanning, especially
when it comes to cost. But sometimes there's just no other way to do what I
want to do.
Besides, I have too much money, and needed to spend some of it! ;-)
