Chris,
    You do not have to be a police officer to attend the school.  It is,
however, a requirement set up by our department's administration that a
person be sponsored by a law enforcement agency.  This is usually not
a problem.  All of the paramedics and EMT's who have attended the 3
schools we have sponsored have had no problem getting a law enforcement
agency to sponsor them.
