I am not sure, but many places don't update their prices as they wouldn't
be able to recover what they paid for it themselves.  The bigger chains
usually have a limited quantity of the special priced item to suck
customers into the store and then sell the higher priced items when the
special os sold out.  Read the fine print.  Anyhow, last time I checked a
40G Maxtor regular price was $125 Canadian, no rebate.  I have one here. 
It works good and I've hardly put a dent in it byte-wise.  I'm happy.

That too.  I don't know myself seeing everything that interests me never
seems to have rebates, 50% off, or anything remotely resembling that.  The
only deals I find are because nobody wants them anymore.  Then they're
really cheap, sometimes even free.
