Since PC-DOS version 2, which has "program segment prefixes". The PSP number on a DOS system is unique to a single process at any single time. So a DOS implementation of the scheme would use a tuple. If I remember correctly (and it has been a long time) the getpid() call in most DOS C++ compilers' standard libraries will return the PSP. So the code wouldn't be very different from a UNIX or OS/2 implementation using a tuple. / JdeBP . ...
