Hello Matt -

CA>> Last I knew Walmarts was selling Lindows computers from
CA>> it's website but not in the stores.

MM> My eldest daughter's A/C died late last Saturday night.
MM> After confirming that it was really dead, I decided to hit
MM> a few web pages to see what was available this late in the
MM> season. Among others, I hit "The Home Depot", and found a
MM> variety of "Maytag" tagged "Made by Fedders" units listed.
MM> I printed a select few pages and Sunday we went shopping.
MM> How suprised I was when we hit the store and found "Oh!,
MM> those are only for online sales, in store we only carry the
MM> house brand 'Hunter'". Needless to say, they had ONE model
MM> in ONE size, and that was that!

For some reason those with 'storefronts' don't bother to note
that items are not in the stores and don't seem to realize that
people might 'shop' before driving to the store by viewing the
website. Seems an obvious mistake to me but not to them.

MM> ....................

CA>> As the 'boomers' age home delivery will probably be more
CA>> common like ordering medication mail-order etc.

MM> I have this vision of UPS delivering milk and eggs... :-))

MM> "As the wheel turns", milk, eggs, ice, _fresh_ fruit,
MM> _fresh_ vegetables, as well as _fresh_ seafood, were all
MM> delivered door-to-door when I was a kid. Most of those
MM> local vendors became the millionaires who later opened our
MM> first "Supermarkets".

I remember the milk man and had an uncle who delivered bread.

I'm anticipating decades more of frozen wages as the cost of
living increases to where many will have no automobiles (which
I also remember from my youth). ;-)

Hard to convince my children that there were people who had
never owned an automobile living in my neighborhood when I was
a child but there were.
