-> It is a lot easier to get a job if you are employed anywhere. Those -> on the dole should take as much time to accept the job as they wish. -> Certainly commesurate with cash flow needs, but why should the rest o -> pay for those unwilling to work? Lalaland is a prgfect example of fai -> of this gimme I want and you owe me syndrome -> -> --- Maximus 3.01 -> (1:116/30) LalaLand? Perhaps another failure is that people who are qualified for a job and do want one can be denied off-hand in the name of "freedom" of employers to hire/turn away who they wish. Society demands that people work/pull their weight yet reserves for the elite the right to parcel out employment according to whim and in their good time. Where is the protection of the citizen to gaining dignified work according to his skills? We idolize Michael Jordan or Pete Sampras for being sports heros and think it is wonderful to give them multi-millions JUST TO PLAY A GAME. The US system grants Robert Downey, Jr. a furlough from prison so that he can act/safeguard his million-dollar film deal. Millions that they will never need. And yet hundreds of thousands struggle through life in the US trying to earn enough to cover the rent. And here we are in this NG pointing the finger at those who have nothing at all, whether they want a handout or not. --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 ----------------> * Origin: UltraTech - Nashville, TN (615)356-0453 {V.34/V.FC} * Origin: Computer One BBS (818) 763-0678 - bbsinfo@comp1.com (1:102/836.0) |
