DB> FWIW, I can't get the same detailed stats as the USR,

Yeah, another good reason for having a USR IMO, extremely useful
stats indeed. Pity they cost so fucking much tho, tho thats not
really true with the Sportster V34. Tho I doubt I would bother
with a ROM modem again, the hacked Courier code discussed in
Aust_Modems etc would be damned handy. The 33K roms for the
Sportster are a total pain in the arse availability wise too.

DB> Lemme see - I have a higher quality connection to
DB> Queensland than I do to Wollstonecraft here in Sydney?

Yeah, as you can see from Russ's full frequency response
results, Dave Drummonds line is absolutely immaculate.
Pauls is nothing special at all, tho about the same as Netcon.

DB> As I understand it, the M34F is back on-line at the moment;
DB> if Bill took his stats while the Viper was in place, then
DB> that means that Paul's lines *are* stuffed - yes?

Nope, the COMBINATION of Bills indifferent line and
Pauls indifferent line gives a SESSION result that
stuffed. BOTH however can call Dave Drummond fine.

DB> If Bill took his stats whilst the M34F was in place, then
DB> perhaps Paul can just play with his NVRAM settings as I've done.

Nope, the full freq response curve shows where the problem is.

The only real solution to the Bill/Paul problem is a modem at
BOTH ends which handles those poor sessions well. And that aint
the M34F, its well known to be rather poor in that situation.
