I thought I would bring this to ya all's attention that I found a card
game that seems to be helping my son concentrate. It is Rummy. He is
learning to follow an order of things, such as, color, picture, letters,
numbers and so on. It seems he is learning to concentrate because in order
to win (which he hate losing) he must put out a big effort and not only
watch what he is doing, but everyone else. Organizing is tuff and so is
making decisions. These are becoming daily practices now with this game.
He also likes Uno which is somewhat similiar and he can use his revenge is
a more healthy way. When got in a tiff when we first started playing and
he refused to eat dinner. Well it took no time at all and his mood was
just fine. No sulking no fighting and so forth. I also use solitaire
for him on the computer because he has to work with number. Or the card
games picking two cards that make 13, or 14. Good for math as he has to
remember and sometimes add in his head. We play these games as a family
which makes it quite fun for all of us.
I thought I would bring this up to let you know that if you guys get
bored instead of turning on the TV, stereo, or all of ya go your seperate
ways at nite. Play a hand of cards. Don't play fish unless they are 3
play something harder that makes them use their head. We are also getting
plenty of laughs and conversation. I have learned in the last two day,
more things that happened in school than I ever had before. Now I tell
you I almost got pretty upset, because there are things that were going
on that your child would probably not think of telling you. Things go
on in school that the kids learn that this is the way it is and so they
believe school is structured that way. Well that is not the way the
school is suppose to be, but they don't know that. Anyways, later.
