Not sure -- but we did have that discussion and as I recall, the
consensus was that Bob should use their number as posted and not to
substitute in their *C number unless they requested same.

That tends to be true, but sometimes it is hard to shed the robes of
office so to speak. I don't recall what node number they used, but
if it really matters I could dig it out from archives in a few days.
I would tend to say that those people were speaking as leaf nodes, but
with the experience and knowledge that comes from being a *C. I doubt
that any of them were speaking in an official capacity as a *C.
