In desperation, it wouldn't hurt to try. EH> :-) I _still_ haven't gotten around to working on these old inkjet cartridges here. (I'm running behind on that, too) There _must_ be a way to revive them, since I see some of the large office supply chains are offering a "bounty" of a ream of paper for turning in the old ones. Distilled water alone has pretty good solvent properties, being so low in ions and those polar H2O molecules looking to tie up with something. If I fail with the distilled/isopropyl, I'll surely give ammonia a try. Not for too long, though, as I'd worry that the NH3 or the OH might end up corrosive to the contacts on the ink cartridge. rummage, rummage - Looking at an old HP cartridge, I'd use the ammonia in a shallow pool, so as to contact only the inkjets on the bottom, not the contacts which run up the back side of the cartridge. ttyl - - - JimH. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
