George, I don't remember which version of Warp you are using, but the
ref. to File and Print Sharing makes me think it's Warp 4. If it is
Warp 4 you are using the wrong install procedure and making a lot of
work for yourself in the process. Since you've gotten this down to an
art by now , start by wiping out all the networking stuff with the
INSTALL/REMOVE selection.
OK, now look at your CONFIG.SYS and remove ALL references, paths, etc
to networking. You should be able to tell which is which by the paths:
\IBMCOM, \IBMLAN. \TCPIP, etc. Compare config.sys with
\os2\boot\config.x and/or \os2\boot\config.m.
Once you are back a reasonably clean system, re-boot and run one of
the .ini repairs programs just for safety sake. (unimaint or
Checkini). Put the CDROM in, go to the root directory of the CDROM and
run INSTALL.CMD - that's all. It will guide you thru the complete
install process in the proper order with all the required info. It
will also set up config.sys and the various LAN .ini files. Do it all
at once. Of particular importance: get the same DOMAIN name for all
machines, set up your NIC, define all the protocols the first time
thru, and last but not least, remember the user name and password you
selected .
When you logon after the re-boot required by the install, use the
'file and print client' logon choice to log onto the local workstation,
then press on. If you get to this point and you still can't share, get
back BEFORE you muddle about and let's get you going. Will Honea
