 RB> At work I run a TSR called TODDY;

 RB> description!
 RB> 6.15 doesn't have quite such good docs, hence two versions. It adds
 RB> as  much as I want of a 4DOS-like command line to a Win95 or Win98 DOS
 RB> box. So far, F3 seems to have worked, though I more often use the up
 RB> arrow or tab command completion. Seems to work, and might be worth
 RB> your while to try, especially as it's free and a BFDS file. ISTR Bat
 RB> uses ALIAS, which is shareware I think, and there are others.

Still using it, loaded in all my VDM (Virtual Dos Machine) sessions,
like the current one, under OS/2...so that would be PC DOS 7.xx.

 alias11b.zip 981225 9k 0 A TSR utility that enables DOS command-line
                                editing and recall of previously issued
                                commands permits assignment to Alias's
                                and reprogramming of 40 Fn keys.

As found in Janis Kracht's Filebone site. But NOT shareware, it's a
freebie from the original authors of DOSKEY (PC Mag util), before M$
stole it. After that, the two revised it to include more (the Aliasing
and 40 programmable Fn keys) then renamed it to Alias. Good memory, RB.
Good Modeming!  /\oo/\
