Aha! Generators are something I know about! One of my interests is
amateur radio (not CB!!!) and I participate in emergency prepardness
drills on a regular basis with the state emergency management agency.
I own a four kilowatt gasoline-powered portable generator that is
used to keep my radios on the air in case of power failure. K-Mart
sells a number of different generators starting at about $250. Mine
costs around $400. A four kilowatt generator can easily power an electric
fan and also power a heavy-duty space heater.
You can also get propane-fueled space heaters made by Coleman at any
camping or boating store that will produce a lot of heat. The canisters
last about four hours, but the area must be well-ventilated to avoid
carbon monoxide problems...and I would not run the thing for the whole
four hours. I'd let it heat the place up, then shut it off for a while,
turn it back on, etc.
... This is not a tagline...
