Yoo Hoo... Shoshona!
SB> Amy & Kit are the sysops of their board ...
Well. That explains a few things.
SB> I have had it with the flaming and and off-topic garbage ...
Me too!!!
SB> On a Disnical note, did you ever see my comments on your WDW
SB> postings? It was fun to get your almost-daily reports... ;-)
I recall getting one encouraging post from you. It was rather more
difficult than I had expected for a couple of reasons: First, while the
hotel did indeed have data ports on the telephones, the phone was by the
bed where there was nowhere to set down the computer, and the nearest
power outlet was 15 feet away. Second, during my visit, my host BBS
(thanks again, John) lost his Fido feed, so I not only had trouble
getting out, I also had trouble downlowding resposes.
I'm so glad to hear that you also enjoyed the posts. I wasn't sure I
would have the energy to write a posting each evening--Marta certainly
fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. Actually, I get so
excited by a day at the park that it takes me an hour or so before I can
go to sleep anyway, so drafting a post actually helped me wind down.
Having read a number of trip reports, both here and on r.a.d.p, I
thought many lacked an element of spontenaety and excitement. Any gains
in organization thus came at a cost. I therefore determined that as much
as possible, mine would be a contemporary report. Looking back on them,
I have to admit that they reflect the wee hour at which they were
written.
If anyone here is foolish enough to encourage me, I will probably try it
again on my next trip, assuming I can find a BBS that's a local call
from Kissimmee. (Did I mention that Orlando isn't?)
If any of you-all are considering it, I recommend the experience. A week
at WDW has a tendency to fade into a blur. Writing a daily log helps
keep the separate events separate, and even if you don't post it, you
can use the record to help plan your next trip. If you're too shy to ask
some strange sysop (and aren't they all?) for temporary access, take the
posts home and post them one-a-day so we can all enjoy it in sequence.
