From: John Beckett Why not allow "obtain an IP automatically" and put up with the APIPA 169.254.x.x address you will get (or disable APIPA in the registry). Once booted, the two computers can then argue (presumably using a mechanism other than IP) to decide who gets the good IP. I wonder what would happen if you set the IP to 127.0.0.2.
