Floridians who love Florida, we have one more week till we vote "YES" on
Amendments 4, 5& 6.  The urgency of my message is this.  The last polls
I read indicate that 4, 5 & 6 would pass with a large margin, except
there is matter for concern because of a large portion of "undecided" or
"uninformed" voters.  The sad statistical truth is that, rather than
expend the energy to read the Amendments at the poll, they tend to vote
"no" irrationally.  So, I'm copying a letter I got from the Audubon
Society.
Florida Voters Have a Chance to Save Our Everglades.  Here's what
Audubon members can do:
      Talk to friends and neighbors - encourage them to vote YES on
Amendments 4, 5 & 6.
      Hold a sign at your precinct on election day - show your support.
      Volunteer for election day - call Save Our Everglades for an
assignment
      Place a sign in your yard - see phone numbers below to get a sign
We lose Everglades habitat each day to development and especially to
pollution from sugarcane production.  The cleanup cost are now up to
$1.4 billion.  Sugar is paying only 15% although the sugar companies are
very profitable and can afford to pay more.  Now we are going directly
to voters to "make the polluters pay" - a penny a pound form their
profits.

For those of you in other states, who see the Everglades as globally
important as I do, if you have friends or relatives in Florida, please
call them and ask them to vote "YES, YES, YES" on Amendments 4, 5 & 6 to
the Florida Constitution.  This is just not Florida"s problem.
