Hello Tom -

RJT>>> Those folks who compared trying to deal with the 'net
RJT>>> with trying to take a drink out of a fire hose weren't
RJT>>> kidding.

->> There are many webpages but all of it is not information.
->> The one thing that was repeated over and over again in
->> college was "Qualify your sources". On the WWW it is almost
->> impossible to do. Any kid can write up a webpage and put
->> anything on that webpage representing it as proven fact.
->> The person viewing that page has no way of knowing they are
->> reading text from a child's perspective. Add that the WWW
->> is very disorganized and you can waste a lifetime
->> 'learning' wrong information and waste hours/days searching
->> for that wrong information.

TW> Boy do the Genealogists get suckered in on that one when
TW> crusing the web. I would bet that over 90% of the so called
TW> Genealogy sites are Pure Unqualified JUNK. But they mearly
TW> dance arround bragging about theri "So Called" finds
TW> without a thought in their head that it might be ALL wrong.

I had an aunt who paid for genealogical research and my father
insisted they had been creative and given her what they knew
she wanted to 'find' rather than any accurate information.

TW> Even searching the Census Records can lead yuo so far
TW> astray it is unbelievable. The Cencus is a Mindless
TW> beuratractic collection of information with NO thoght
TW> whatsoever thast someone in the Future might need that
TW> information. It is VERY poorly designed. OF course it
TW> fulfills a "Political Purpose" and that is all that those
TW> that designed are interested in.

I could see that the census was just a 'head count' for
collecting revenues and supporting political agendas. Most
statistics coming from our government are smoke and mirrors.
With stricter 'guidelines' determining who can collect
unemployment the unemployment rate quoted is a joke. There is
no way to count those who did not qualify, those who exhausted
their ability to collect are assumed to have "returned to work"
and others who fall off the screen. I would guess unemployment
to be at least double or triple the 'rate' politicians like to
toss out there.

People who _do_ return to work at one-half the rate they had
previously earned are deemed a 'success'. If we calculated
purchasing power of the working American over the past two
decades I think people would refuse to believe it was the truth.
