I think that we may have to do that. We were doing that a while
back with the Thursday races. Fortunately, we got a lady interested
in being committee chairman. She's out there virtually every night.
When she isn't (which is rare), she makes sure that she has a boat
and committee ready.
BTW, on post, Lou is a bear! She's feared by not only the racers
but by the owners of the committee boat. However, she runs great
races and has learned to pick courses that are fun and challenging.
(She doesn't sail.) Yet, after all the results are posted, she's
one of the most pleasant persons around. She listens to the racers'
comments and uses them the help her get better, both for control
of the race and for the further enjoyment of the racers and excitement.
Her biggest problem lately has been to convince the committee boat
owners that the racers are not building up ramming speed when they
go for the line and are trying to sink them!

Part of that problem is that a lot of the racers do not have their
own boat to use as the committee boat. Also, many are either
underage or are not members of the YC and, as such, are not
allowed to run the YC's chase/committee boat.
... "And how would like your eggs sir?" "Broached."
