The problem with editing the text files under Linux is directly the result of how you save them. Windows uses a CR/LF for end of line, Linux does not and that is why if you use a Linux text editor, IGM's and stuff that rely on text datafiles fail. If you remember to save as DOS/Windows text files, the problem should not occur. OS/2 is more like DOS/Windows in how it saves files, so you shouldn't run into this particular issue under OS/2. Hope that helps shed some light on the subject.
