From: "Frank Haber" Mike, >thermal bond failure between the CPU chip and heat sink. Xeon? Factory heatsink? Tape or grease? Whose? I've never seen a failure unless the CPU got taken out and dropped. I'm seeing white (Aluminum) thermal grease drying out, finally, on **1980** audio amplifiers. I guess Dow 5 (silicone grease) does in fact have a vapor pressure! Some of those old discrete parts are damn hard to find. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
