Xeon?  Factory heatsink?  Tape or grease? Whose?  I've never seen a failure
unless the CPU got taken out and dropped.

I'm seeing white (Aluminum) thermal grease drying out, finally, on **1980**
audio amplifiers.  I guess Dow 5 (silicone grease) does in fact have a
vapor pressure!

Some of those old discrete parts are damn hard to find.
