Hello Charles.

05 Sep 03 16:03, you wrote to me:

And if it tells you to make a right turn where obviously there isn't a
right turn are you going to make that turn? A 'no brainer' might. I've
seen people do sillier things in a car. Also consider that cellphones are
already cited as a big distraction to drivers what do you suppose a fancy
map is going to do? Mind you I've seen, and sheepishly admit to doing in
the past, maps unfolded by drivers trying to figure out where the heck they
are and where they are going, which takes the attention away from what
should be the top priority at that moment.

Seeing I cannot afford a Cadillac, not entirely sure I'd buy one if I could
afford it, I think I'll be keeping an eye open if I encounter on of these
sharing the road. ;-)

Overall I like the idea of GPS, moving maps thingies despite what I say
above. I am not sure which would be a greater threat to safety, an
unfolded map or a digital display. Someone who understands basic
navigation skills in the passenger seat might come in handy.

Maurice
