| subject: | Re: NT4 security updates |
From: Randall Parker Suppose you did switch to Linux on at least some servers. Do many of your customers use APIs that are not available on Linux? Like, is there an open source ASP clone? Maybe you ought to put portable API sets such as Perl stuff and PHP stuff on your servers now so that come 2008 your customers will have been coding with portable APIs rather than Win-specific ones. I really like the way Hosting Matters puts tons of Perl, PHP, MySQL, and other stuff on their Linux servers. If I need some Perl module they don't already have installed they put it on in a jiffy.
