RW> One wonders what these doofuses would do if they understood RW> that: RW> 1. YOu will be charged for damage for company equipment; RW> #2. YOu can get fired for damaging company equipment RW> repeatedly. these two, at least, should be part of /every/ network usage policy that any and all companies have... period... "we" are continually pointing things like this out to those asking for technical means of blocking social activities in the firewall support forums i participate in... we keep telling them, over and over and over again, you cannot control social problems via technical means... there MUST be a policy in effect that gives the "company" legal rights to terminate the users' usage of the network... one way or another... some of them fuss about being told that... until they are truly shown how it can affect their networks and company in a very detrimental way... first is cost analysis of the usage of p2p apps on their company network... second is when they are shown cost analysis of the usage of allowing streaming traffic like "radio" and "tv" on their company network... this is especially driven home when they are having to pay for the traffic flow... inbound or outbound... OMG! and you should see the stuff that comes back when the owner(s) of the company believe that they should have unfettered access and they get infested with "garbage" out there that they don't even know about or understand... i really hate to educate the ignorant... not! well... yeah... maybe... no... not!! )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 620 848 953 @PATH: 3634/12 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
