And my Grandfather ate the same type of diet all of his life.
Ham, bacon, eggs, pancakes with syrup, sugars etc.
He died at the age of 85 in an accident.
But he was going strong until hiss death, and his arteries were clean.
My Father in Law is 90 years old, and ate garbage food all his life also.
He is also doing fine.
I also know some people who eat "healthy" diets who have arteriosclerosis, 
atherosclerosis, high cholesterol and so on.

I have been told that Osteoarthritis is caused by the wear and tear on the 
joints, which erodes them.
As such, foods will have no effect on it.
Pressure will.
I have Osteoarthritis in the joints of my hands, and when I do manual work, 
the joints hurt later.
When I do not do any work with my hands, there is no pain at all.
Rheumatoid Arthritis is sometimes affected by diet.
With the emphasis on "sometimes".
