I have had a reply from Netcomm, and:

1. They suggest I use AT%L11
2. There is no money-back guarantee

The Viper owner is of the opinion that my modem is far superior
to his, so I can probably do a swap.  The Viper is connect fine
to Dave Hatch at 28800.  I want to put the Netcomm back online
to try out the effect of AT%L11, but first of all I want some
test results on the Viper.  Can you guys all try calling about
5 times tonight so that you can get your results ASAP so that I
can report the data to Netcomm, assuming %L11 fails to do the
trick the following day.  BTW, I still have the Netcomm here
(and the USR) as the guy is happy to use an old 14400 modem
whilst waiting for me to return his.  BFN.  Paul.
