I rode too.  The covered arena has a nice windbreak on the west side so
it wasn't too bad.  The only problem I had was that Smokeys bridle is
home being cleaned and I had to use the spare with the fat snaffle in
it.  One of us is not ready to work with him in the snaffle yet.  He
tried hanging his head, ignoring me etc.  I hate riding at a trot with
the horses head down between his knees and when I say stop I mean now
not when it suits him.  I felt like we had retrogressed 2 years.  I
spent the whole ride convincing him that just because I changed the bit
doesn't put him in charge.  My wrist and legs hurt for 2 days after
that ride.  I'm not use to having to ride him that way anymore.
