You don't mention which operating system you're using; but assuming it's  
some flavor of DOS, I recommend Fred Brucker's {COMMO}, version 7.  It's  
small, fast, and very powerful -- I use it under DOS, Win3.11 and OS/2  
Warp3.  It's also very reasonably priced, especially when you consider  it 
comes with a versatile (and easy to use) macro language that can be  used to 
both automate functions and add new capabilities.
If you run OS/2 and want a native-mode app, I recommend LiveWire,  version 
3.21.  Includes both WPS-graphical and text-mode versions.   Excellent 
software, and also very reasonably priced.
As far as Windows apps go, I can't help you -- don't use them myself --  but 
I'm sure someone here can.
