I just woke up and found your note, Jim.

JH> I _still_ haven't gotten around to working on these old inkjet
JH> cartridges here. (I'm running behind on that, too)

Be one of the gang ! I just got back to Roxboro and have not yet
relocated all the stuff that I brought to/from Kamouraska, tools,
books and all kind of stuff. Oh, well !

 JH> If I fail with the distilled/isopropyl, I'll surely give ammonia a
JH> try. Not for too long, though, as I'd worry that the NH3 or the OH
JH> might end up corrosive to the contacts on the ink cartridge. rummage,
JH> rummage - Looking at an old HP cartridge, I'd use the ammonia in a
JH> shallow pool, so as to contact only the inkjets on the bottom, not the
JH> contacts which run up the back side of the cartridge.

Are these not gold plated and that explains their high cost ?

On the Lexmark here, I have two carriers and one prints black
fine and not colour, the other is the opposite. Fun ! So I am
also looking for a solution ( pun ) to this problem of
        revitalizing a printhead. Listening......

        No HD yet.
