The normal problem is DNS. On the XP computer, go to command prompt (run
cmd) and enter:
  ipconfig /all

The only DNS server listed should be a DNS server with knowledge of your
domain. Often, that is the IP of your domain controller (if DNS was
installed with the domain). Use ipconfig /all on the domain controller to
see what DNS server it is using.
