RS> Interesting. That does sort of hint that if the lines RS> are pretty good at either end of a particular call, the RS> M34F can handle that, but if the lines are a big grotty RS> at BOTH ends of a particular call, it can have problems. DM> Sure looks that way. Do you, or perhaps Bill G, DM> know how to get stats from the Maestro ? As far as I am aware you cant get the fancy frequency response graph when calling a V32 or V32bis modem from a Courier. DM> All I can see is reported line levels. (AT%L) Would that help at all ? Well, its better than nothing. Ideally it would be nice to borrow a Courier and measure your line properly, particularly calling Dave Drummonds immaculate line. We have that from Bill and Russ and the difference is fucking amazing, particularly when graphed in a spreadsheet. And Bill calling Paul is utterly obscene, no wonder there are handshaking problem and have been even in the Spirit days. BUT its because BOTH lines arent anything special and the combination is obscene. Why dont you try borrowing Paul Markhams Courier and actually measuring your line performance properly ? Its a hell of a diagnostic tool. Close to a proper line tester in fact now. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 |
