The GNU port of Emacs for OS/2 can be used as an IDE to run make and
jump to errors in the source. This still requires make and Makefiles.
Emacs also has C and C++ modes, and I _think_ color syntax highlighting,
and context sensitive help, i.e. help pops for the word under the
cursor. Emacs has a learning curve on the order of learning a new OS,
if not higher.
I prefer Qedit, make, and two VIO windows, one for compiling and one for
editing. :-)
