It sounds like you have folder A with lots of stuff under it.

You also have folder B and you have set the permissions on B just the way
you want. You want these permissions copied to A and everything below it?

The simplest would be to manually put the permissions on A that you put on
B. There is a button to apply the permissions currently on A to all
subfolders and files under A. In Windows 2000, try the Advanced button
under security properties.
