EO> "preaching" tolerance versus "practicing" it. (Otherwise nicknamed
 EO> Theology 101)
BL> I think that comes into it a lot in the chapter we just finished. Saying
BL> that these countries are having so many economic and government problems
BL> because there aren't enough Christians in it is really rude.
-sigh- I know the feeling.
EO> That's probably easier with Homeschool families -- "the teacher said"
EO> doesn't conflict with family values as much... (chuckle)
BL> That is true. He had a teacher once tell him that Science is lies, and
BL> that bothered him. This wasn't a Science teacher or a religion teacher,
BL> either. But, I guess it showed Will that differences in opinion happen
 BL> and are ok.
Yes, it is a good lesson. Did you ever take the chance to have that teacher
and the principal discuss such biased idiocy?
BL> I go to church regularly, and have never heard the kind of bashing -
BL> subtle and otherwise that is in this one book.
The only times I can guarantee you'll ever see it is on TeleVangelism.
Otherwise, it's a "case-by-case" situation. Although I had a collegiate
instructor who made the mistake of bringing Christianity into the classroom.
After thanking whatever dieties protect fools (the most outspoken Newager was
absent due to car troubles) the rest of the students and I slammed her
post-class evaluation for her unneccesary detours into religion (she was
instructing on Nutrition!).
BL> I think that's well put, and why I will now do my best to avoid
 BL> "Christian" textbooks.
I've got a friend here locally who's trying to put together a database on
secular/some-religion/very Christian/Christian biased scholastic materials.
If you'd post Tori Otsuki with the name of these texts, their catalog and
all, she'd probably greatly appreciate it...
BL> ... True Religion Acknowledges Chocolate in Everything!
Hehehehe... Can I netmail you a very funny pagan ritual?? It's titled "The
Chocolate Ritual..." (The perfect addition to a Holloween party!)
B*B!
