That would work for informal organizations. At a business
meeting doing audio or audio-visual recording would alter the
results of the meeting quite a bit. Corporate business meetings
are a 'staged event' as it is without encouraging anyone. Don't
recall the technical term for this but those who try to do
documentaries have discussed that the camera influences what it
'sees' enough to do harm to the accuracy of the documentary.
The same would be true of audio recording assuming people knew
they were being recorded. ;-)
