| subject: | CMD Ramdrive Woes - HELP! |
A friend of mine aquired a secondhand ramdrive, didn't read the manual when trying to get it going, pulled it out of its cover and finally gave it to me to see what I could do with it. Following the manual, I got it up and going, organised it for geos and filled it up, and then gave it back to him. It seems that in his reassembly of it back into it's case, he has broken off one end of one of the jumper wires on the top of the board, the one from the left hand side of the swap switch (SW3). Also, (and maybe because of this) non of the indicator leds light up at any time and all I get is a blank screen when connected, either enabled or disabled. I have also noted that the 9v plug connection is able to short itself out due to bare wires if twisted the right way. The little internal indicator leds 6, 7 & 8 are lit and at least 7 & 8 will go off when the keyboard is switched on. Can anyone tell me where the jumper should be connected, any other possible problems and what possible price to have it repaired? Regards Weyrleader ps He really doesn't deserve to have it and I would happily have traded my left nut to have been able to keep it. Ah well - such is life I suppose.
