Hi Les,
I thought you might have given up in despair! ... :-)
But now that we can see the code you were using I think we can get to
the root of the problem.
From my code:

Out-bound buffer -----+ | |
| |
In-bound buffer --------------+ |
|
Maximum wait time -----------------+
From Keith's code:
LR> > 0, 255, 0);
0 bytes of out-bound buffer
255 bytes of in-bound buffer
0 msec (system default 50 msec) wait time
I think the problem is that he has no buffer space for sending
messages, only for receiving. The Control Program Guide doesn't give
any default value for these buffer parameters that will be used when
zero is specified, unlike the wait time, where 50 msec is the default.

Perhaps not. ... :-)

I have copies of Borland 1.0, 1.01 and 1.5. I have IBM C Set ++ 2.01
and Visual Age C++ 3.03. I have Watcom C/C++ 10.6. I also have a copy
of EMX C/C++ on the Hobbes CD.
All of these are at your disposal, allowing for Fido delay.

I don't envisage any major changes, since Keith's code looks close to
being right as is. Probably 10 minutes with a text editor is all
that's needed.
Since I live in England, the tax considerations would make payment
prohibitive. If I do any work you can "fax me a beer", as Hank Williams
Jr. would say.
Regards
Dave
