Don't bow out Vic.....something is definitely different
about your system to allow it to boot. I re-read your
first message, and I get that you never really booted
FROM the 2940's hard drive? I wonder if that is the key?

I may try and load ECS 1.0. It's been a while since I
had it loaded and I can't remember if I loaded it on
IDE or this Adaptec unit.

If it works with 1.0, it SHOULD work with 1.1 :)
