I just woke up and found your note, Jim.
Actually, I have been up close to two hours.
JH> Sorry, I've never seen a 370 to 370 adapter. But I will say that
JH> Celeron 566 is a FCPGA Socket 370 chip, where most of the slower
JH> Socket 370 Celerons are PPGA chips.
The W being what it is, I dropped a note to the previous owner
and he stated that it enables the use of an FCPGA2 in an FCPGA
socket. (?). Not my situation but it included the adapter to let
me upgrade later and he did not need it anymore.
JH> Now you're confusing me, since the information seems to be
JH> conflicting.
That sure was not the intent. Sorry. My poor English again.
JH> Slot 1 is what is on that GVC KR637 board where you've
JH> been trying to get the video to work.
I have not given up yet. Your 689 megs HD has not been modified.
The only thing that I did to it was to change the resolution so
I could see things on screen. As you had it loaded, it gave me a
800 x 600 screen and if it worked for you and your monitor, that
proves that it is not a valid setup for this KR637 that I have
here. As you wrote to me in your last e-mail, if the memory for
the video is gone, nothing can be done then.
Your HD still comes up in 800 x 600 and 256 colours. My MoBo
will only see the 640 x 480 at 16 colours. I am going to play
with this P566 now, later today. Would you like to see this
KR637 when I go south ? As I wrote, if this HD of yours did set
your MoBo fine, it should have done the same here with a healthy
one. Methinks. The monitor was tested good and I get the same
results on another monitor. Shooots !
