KG> Pirates of the Caribbean
KG> ------------------------
KG> In a strange display of "synchronicity," the above topic was being
KG> discussed simultaneous with a conversation about changes being made
KG> to the "Pirates of the Caribbean." These changes are partly the result
KG> of consumer protest by a religious faction with which Kit Ballantyne
KG> and others strongly disagree. Many people expressed their feelings
KG> about not wanting to see any changes; Kit was among the most vocal.
KG> Kit (and others) also expressed dis-satisfaction with the way that
KG> Disney is being managed. And they made _political_ statements about
KG> a group of people acting on their religious beliefs. This is not
KG> unusual for the Ballantynes. They've been involved in similar
KG> controversies in the Freemason and Mormon echoes. I think it is
KG> only fair to point out that Kit brought a lot of this upon himself.
KG> Maybe after he's had a chance to consider the facts, he will return.
He was only voicing what most of already know. Some changes aren't
meant to take place. The Late Rick Nelson made the mistake of
singing about a honky tonk at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN and was booed
off the stage because he didn't play his old familar hits.
It's almost the same deal with the ride here. In our attempt to be
more intellectually enlightened we have forgotten how to have a
sense of humor about everything. We are losing our instinct to
have fun.
And as I have explained before, not everyone accepts change
even if The Politically Correct try to force us into being
people we can never be. Everyone's upbringing is different and
it's very rare if you run into someone with a similar background.
